The choir currently numbers about 20 and there are some vacancies in all voices.
Members of the Choir must be 18 or over.
Entrance to the choir is by an initial trial period. Although sight-reading and prior choral experience are useful, they are not essential provided the singer is musical and learns their part reasonably rapidly. Rehearsals are not primarily note-learning but true rehearsal – examination and improvement of musical performance. Members who do not sight-read are therefore expected to put in preparation at home, sometimes sourcing performances themselves on the internet if they find that helpful or sometimes working from rehearsal recordings provided
Membership of the Society is free to all current members of Liverpool Hope University staff and students, as is entrance to all our concerts. Others pay £90 per year or £45 for students of other universities and unemployed.
